1928

Founding of Lucien Bernard & Cie

Lucien Bernard founds the distillery “Lucien Bernard & Cie” in Bordeaux. Located on the Quai Deschamps, the distillery’s purpose was to produce and sell spirits. The company became world leader in the production of brandies.

1959

Acquisition of the winery at Quai de Paludate

Lucien Bernard & Cie buys the chais at 87 Quai de Paludate, the former warehouses of the Julien Damoy company, which had been abandoned since the Second World War.

1979

Creation of SOBOVI by Lionel Cruse

1983

Acquisition of Domaine de Chevalier and launch of the wine trade

The Bernard Group acquires Domaine de Chevalier, a Grand Cru Classé in Graves in Pessac-Léognan. That same year, the company launches its wine trading activities with the creation of “Vins des Grands Vignobles”.

1989

Acquisition of SOBOVI

Purchase by Vins des Grands Vignobles of SOBOVI, a company positioned on the French wine trade market, a preferred supplier to wine professionals (cellars, restaurants and delicatessens), and benefiting from major Primeur allocations in the Premiers Grands Crus and Crus Classés, as well as on the available market.

2002

Christophe Bernard

Thirteen years after the acquisition of the company, Christophe Bernard takes over management of SOBOVI.

2006

Sobovi starts trade on the International market

2010

Establishment of Export Operations

Opening of our Hong Kong offices with agents throughout Asia.

2020

New Premises

Relocation of the Bernard Group, Millésima, Lucien Bernard and SOBOVI teams to the newly renovated offices at 87 Quai de Paludate.
